Testimonials

Sofia has been my yoga teacher since I was 25 weeks pregnant; now, I am 4 and a half months postpartum, and I don’t ever want to stop attending her class. That’s because Sofia has a gift for getting me into my BODY. She slows my mind, she relaxes my nervous system, she centers my breathing, and she always has a powerful story to tell that also puts a smile on my face. Sofia is everything you want in a doula: she very gentle, but very tough and loud at the same time. She will sing to you in a voice that fills the whole room, and she will massage you until your mind drifts away into a beautiful place. She is expressive, unreserved, hilarious, kind, and authentically HERSELF.

I did not have a doula when I gave birth (because Sofia was not yet certified - otherwise I would have easily hired her). However, I attended her yoga class weekly for 14 weeks before my daughter was born. She indirectly gave me so many tools to use, like stretches, positions, and pelvic openers. I channeled her lessons during my labor, because yoga prepared me SO MUCH! I am eternally grateful that I discovered her yoga class because it laid the mental, emotional, and physical groundwork for the most potent and powerful experience of my life.

I began attending Sofía's prenatal yoga class at 14 weeks pregnant and continued weekly throughout my pregnancy and into postpartum. It was one of the best decisions that I made for myself during this time. Her classes helped me stay grounded and connected, providing physical comfort and mental calm.

Sofía is truly amazing. She took care of me in so many ways, from offering personalized modifications and check-ins during class to supporting me after the baby was born. She even brought over a delicious homemade meal for our family in the early postpartum days. Her warmth and compassion go far beyond yoga, and I can't recommend her enough to any expecting or new mama!

Sofia was the doula for the birth of my 3rd baby.  I had to get induced at 35 weeks for medical reasons.  My first baby was induced and I had a very bad birthing experience.  I ended with pain for months postpartum.

I hired a doula for my second baby and had a much better birth experience (no induction and quick labor).  I had hired the same doula for my third expecting a similar experience to the second birth, but Sofia had to step in in her place due to the early induction date. Because I was getting induced,  I assumed my birth plan of not getting an epidural was out the door and was scared I would end up in a similar situation to the first birth.

Sofia came in, asked me about my birth plan and other information.  She understood what I wanted quickly. With my first birth, the pain jumped from a 4 to a 10 when my water was broken so I wanted to avoid it as much as possible. She spoke up for me to get more time to make decisions when doctors were pushing for my water to be broken and encouraged me to do different exercises between the doctor check ins to help the labor along so that I would not have to resort to them breaking my water.  When the contractions started getting stronger and closer together, I had a moment where I wanted to cave. Sofia was supportive of whatever I chose but she also offered alternative options to make sure I was making the right decision for me. In the end, I was able to deliver without getting an epidural.  I was so happy with how Sofia’s support.  We really could not have had such a great birthing experience without her!
